Mas Que Nada was written by Brazilian composer, Jorge Ben, in 1964. In 1966, Sergio Mendes scored a US hit with his version in 1966. Nancy Ames is the granddaughter of a past President of Panama. She released about a dozen albums in the 60s, two of which, This Is The Girl That Is and Latin Pulse reached the US album charts. The former reflected her involvement with the US version of the TV show, That Was The Week That Was, presented by David Frost. On 45, Nancy reached the Hot-100 twice, both times in 1966, with He Wore The Green Beret and Cry Softly.
