A Very Special Christmas is the first in the A Very Special Christmas series of Christmas-themed compilation albums produced to benefit the Special Olympics. The album was released in mid-October 1987, and production was overseen by Jimmy Iovine for A&M Records. A Very Special Christmas has raised millions of dollars for the Special Olympics. The cover artwork was designed by Keith Haring.

The album was introduced and presented at the festivals and clubs of the greatest quality, such as: Expo Milano 2015, Montreux Jazz Festival (CH), Verbier Festival (CH); Espace Abri, Genève (CH); Gambrinus Jazz Club St Gallen (CH); Chorus jazz club Lausanne (CH), Ono Berne (CH), Sunside Paris(F), Ducs des Lombards Paris(F), Jazz in Bess Lugano (CH), Jazz club Torino, or. Blue Note Milano. His latest project, LAKES, is a concept album, inspired by different Swiss lakes.
