Finding Forever is the seventh studio album by Common, released on July 31, 2007 on GOOD Music and Geffen Records. Like Common's previous album, Be (2005), Finding Forever is primarily produced by Kanye West. The album debuted at the number one on the Billboard 200, selling 155,000 units in the first week, becoming Common's first chart-topper. Selling over 500,000 units in the US, it has been certified Gold.

Album · 2007 · 13 Songs. After a detour into rock-heavy experimentation on 2002’s Electric Circus, Common hooked up with nt Kanye West for 2005’s Be, a commercial and critical resurgence. West again handles most of the production duties on this follow-up, which may be (slightly) less polished and fluid, but ultimately more ambitious, earthy, and rewarding.

This is where Common steps in-on one particularly notable line on his new album Finding Forever, Lonnie Lynn proclaims they used to call me Chi-Town’s Nas. It’s a funny thing, then, that Common, with the exception of the weird, psychedelic Electric Circus, has an impressive record of great albums under his belt, Finding Forever only continuing his winning streak. Teaming up again with fellow Chicago producer/emcee Kanye West, Common picks up where Be left off, energized and inspired and carrying a milk crate full of fantastic songs with him.
