Plastic Letters is the second studio album by American rock band Blondie, released in December 1977 on Chrysalis Records. It was the second and final Blondie album to be produced by Richard Gottehrer.

Plastic Letters would be fine if it were Warhol trash, but it’s the fact that Blondie attempts to be trashy, and at this they fail miserably. The first side of the release is pure manic and much too full of shocking pink high pitched wailing energy for my ears. Best Blondie album cover, and for me, for nostalgic reasons, best Blondie album. In artistic terms, Plastic Letters, Blondie's second album, was a classic example of the sophomore slump. If their debut, Blondie, was a precise update of the early-'60s girl group sound, delivered with an ironic, '70s sensibility, its follow-up seemed to consist of leftovers, the songwriting never emerging from obscurity and pedestrian musical tracks. The production (again courtesy of Richard Gottehrer) was once again bright and sharp, but in the service of inferior material it alone couldn't save the collection.
