Money (That's What I Want)" is a song written by Tamla founder Berry Gordy and Janie Bradford that became the first hit record for Gordy's Motown enterprise. The song was recorded in 1959 by Barrett Strong for the Tamla label, distributed nationally on Anna Records. It went on to be covered by many artists, including the Beatles in 1963 and the Flying Lizards in 1979.
About Money (That’s What I Want). The closing track on The Beatles' second album was a major part of their early repertoire during their formative touring years in Hamburg, Germany-circa 1960-1962. Money (That’s What I Want) was a hit for Barrett Strong in 1959. Written by legendary Motown founder Berry Gordy, the sad irony of this classic song was that Strong was ultimately screwed out of royalties from the tune’s success. 14. Money (That’s What I Want). Money (That's What I Want)" (originally by Barrett Strong). The best things in life are free But you can keep 'em for the birds and bees. Now give me money (that's what I want) That's what I want (that's what I want) That's what I want (that's what I want) yeah That's what I want. Your loving give me a thrill, But your loving don't pay my bills. Money (That's What I Want)" was one of three Motown Records songs which were covered by The Beatles for their second UK album "With The Beatles" (1963) and their US album "The Beatles' Second Album" (1964). Other two songs were "You've Really Got A Hold On Me" and "Please Mr. Postman". George Martin played piano on this song.

We have Backstreet Boys’ I Want It That Way. We have Shanks and Bigfoot’s Sweet Like Chocolate. Even Adam Rickitt is there, all naked for I Breathe Again.
