Bio Ritmo "Salsa Machine" is a salsa band based in Richmond, Virginia formed in 1991. The name Bio Ritmo is a Spanglish word play on the term Biorhythm, the hypothetical description for the rhythm of life.
This album has a real classic Bio Ritmo sound while having fewer of the really strange experimental elements. The music tends to be modern sounding in the sense of being fast, upbeat, and perhaps a bit light sounding, yet without any pop influence. it's like all the songs on it have a certain feel that is distinct from even Bio Ritmo's other work, and I really like it. It seems colorful, vibrant, clear, fresh, while having a lot of depth. Bio Ritmo's three albums, Rumba Baby Rumba, Salsa Galactica, and Que Siga La Musica, all sound like they were done by completely different bands. They must have changed the lineup around between albums. Rumba Baby Rumba and Que Siga La Musica are both really good, but this album was kind of boring.
Bio Ritmo’s debut Triloka/Mercury album, Rumba Baby Rumba! (released July 21), shakes a groove thing with standout party tracks like the first single, Call Me Up (644-7215), and a delightful cover of Mozart’s Night Music. But make no mistake, says Jim Thomson, Bio Ritmo is not jumping on the big-band wagon. We don’t have a trend mentality, Thomson said recently. It’s more like, for all the individual members, this is what we’re looking for; it fits an ideal for our own personal visions.
3) and their self titled album. Any particular songs that are really worth it? Thanks. The Best Album is. Bio Ritmo, thats just great and a must have. not bad is SALSA SYSTEM and Salsa Galactica.
