Buzzard's Original Savannah Band Meets King Penett is the second studio album by Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band. It was released in 1978 by RCA. It peaked at number 36 on the Billboard 200 chart and number 23 on the Top R&B Albums chart. All tracks written by August Darnell and Stony Browder Jr. Cory Daye – vocals. Browder reorganized and issued a Dr. Buzzard's Savannah Band (dropping the "original") album titled Calling All Beatniks! in 1984. Although in a similar neo-retro style to the group's successful debut, this album was a lesser commercial success, failing to spawn a major hit single but peaking well on the US Billboard 200 and the R&B chart at and respectively. After the release of a third album, James Monroe HS Presents Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band Goes to Washington, the group fragmented, with Darnell and Hernandez going off to form Kid Creole & the Coconuts. Browder reorganized and issued a Dr. William Ruhlmann, Rovi.
