Dear Mr. President is a 1942 album by the Almanac Singers: Agnes Cunningham, Baldwin "Butch" Hawes, Woody Guthrie, Millard Lampell, Lee Hays and Pete Seeger. After the Japanese attacks on Pearl Harbor, in February 1942 the Almanacs went into the studio to record a set of songs supporting the American war effort. This was partly because with American entrance into World War II all American unions adopted a no-strike pledge. President" is a song by Pink featuring the Indigo Girls, and was recorded for Pink's fourth album, I'm Not Dead. The song is an open letter to the then-President of the United States, George W. Bush

Profile Dear Mr. President were a pop/rock band from Portland, Oregon. Formed in 1986, vocalist Julian Raymond (formerly of the band Bang Bang ) claimed the band was named after a disturbing painting he had seen by former child star Leif Garrett. Here we have a fantastic album, with thought provoking lyrics, great melody with well performed songs that convey much emotion and feeling. A band very hard to pigeonhole (which makes a nice change) and definately not for everyone, but some of the more open minded amongst us will definately get something from this
