Recloose’s 2nd EP for Planet E, Spelunking comes neatly in the wake of a digital reissue for his début, So This Is The Dining Room to remind everyone the deft brilliance of Matthew Chicoine’s late ‘90s take on deep house, broken beats and even jazzed-up jungle.

On his second EP as Recloose, Spelunking, Matt Chicoine fulfills the promise he'd unveiled on his quirky debut, So This Is the Dining Room (1998). Over the course of only four tracks (five on the CD release), the gifted producer brings together a mélange of jazzy beats and dubby basslines into swirling broken beat tracks that draw from the same fount, more or less, yet each uphold a distinctive air. Every track here is a highlight, and by the end of this EP, you're left hungry for more - a full-length helping, in fact.
