The Sex Pistols, Steve Jones' brutish power chords and flamboyant gutter-glam solos were a perfect mirror for the taunting bile of Johnny Rotten – and a yardstick for every punk-rock noise-maker that followed. His legacy was set with indelible riffs on one record – 1977's Never Mind the Bollock. that inspired guitarists from Slash to Billie Joe Armstrong. He has continued absorbing new influences, as on "Dazzling Blue," off his most recent album, So Beautiful or So What: "All that folk fingerpicking is what I did with Simon and Garfunkel, but it's on top of this rhythm with Indian musicians playing in 12/8. At 70, he's as nimble as ever. Key Tracks: "Dazzling Blue," "Kathy's Song".

Dhaulagiri is the seventh highest mountain in the world and is about 26,795 feet (8,167 meters) tall. It is located just north of central Nepal. Its name means White Mountain. The South and West faces of Dhaulagiri both feature massive drops; each rises over 4000 meters from its base, and each has been the site of epic climbs. This mountain, along with Annapurna, is home to a more dramatic scene than most of the other mountains, for they face each other while separated by a valley

Wright dug out that Steve’s real name is Steve Leach, rather than the woodier-sounding Wold. At the time he was playing with Shanti, though, Steve had said he was living and playing in Paris on the street in 1972. Leach/Wold may not have played on that particular single but he recorded an album – Dance Up a Storm – with them in 1976. The other players in Crystal Grass had a strong pedigree – Slim Pezin and Don Ray were part of the house band for Tele Music, France’s foremost music library, where French disco king Cerrone also cut his teeth. Seasick Steve: Ramblin’ Man by Matthew Wright is published by Music Press Books.
