Tango in the Night is the 14th studio album by British-American rock band Fleetwood Mac. Released in April 1987, it is the fifth and to date last studio album from the band's most successful line-up of Lindsey Buckingham, Stevie Nicks, Christine McVie, John McVie and Mick Fleetwood. Produced by Buckingham with Richard Dashut, Tango in the Night began as one of Buckingham's solo projects, but by 1985 the production had morphed into Fleetwood Mac's next album.
Tango in the Night", along with "Big Love" and "Caroline" were all initially slated to appear on Buckingham's third solo album. He instead opted to use these songs for Fleetwood Mac's next album. The song is very percussive in nature, with tinkering xylophones, tambourines, and various latin percussion scattered throughout. While the track's musical arrangement was completed before the Tango sessions, the lyrics had yet to be developed. The verses in particular featured radically different lyrics. Additionally, the trembling vocal part heard.

Tango In The Night is FINALLY getting its due with a deluxe remaster on its thirtieth anniversary. I was 9 when this album was released and I remember hearing the singles all over the radio.
The resulting album, Tango in the Night, is exactly that: a monolithic, lucrative idea of a Fleetwood Mac record. It was recorded over eighteen months between 1986 and 1987, mostly at Buckingham’s home studio in . Buckingham devoted himself to the record, laboring intensely over its songs, its sounds, and the integrity of its design. Recording technology had advanced substantially since the early ’80s, and Buckingham found the methods by which he could determine the shape and temperature of a Fleetwood Mac song had expanded
