Egyptian Hip Hop are an English indie rock band, formed in Greater Manchester in 2008. Their debut EP, "Some Reptiles Grew Wings" was released 20 September 2010 through the Hit Club record label. Their debut album "Good Dont Sleep" was released in the UK on 22 October 2012 through R&S Records. Egyptian Hip Hop formed in winter 2008, by friends Alex Hewett (lead vocals, guitar and keyboards) and Louis Stevenson-Miller (guitar, bass, keyboards and backing vocals).

Egyptian Hip Hop first emerged back in 2009 as four sparky 17-year-olds from Manchester with an uncanny knack for lush, scruffy melodies and raucous tales of guitar lessons from Johnny Marr. Their debut EP Some Reptiles Grew Wings<, produced by Warps Hudson Mohawke, featured a clutch of delectably angular pop songs and affirmed their singular sense of rhythm.

We all got excited when Egyptian Hip Hop released their 4 track EP Some Reptiles Grew Wings. and now 3 years later they're back with their debut album!
