The story unfolds in the music of how their meeting in a castle in Germany led to the recording of their New World Flamenco CD and subsequent 50-show USA tours. America’s award-winning guitarist & harp-guitarist Muriel Anderson teams up with Germany’s famed duo Tierra Negra (Leo Henrichs and Raughi Ebert). The collaboration has now resulted in a studio album, a set of instrumental pieces aptly dubbed New World Flamenco. We weren’t looking to create a new genre, Anderson says. But when we brought our music together, we found a fresh energy coming from our combination of sounds and influences. Of course there is a process where you try all kinds of things, but it wasn’t difficult to find solid ground.

Tierra Negra & Muriel Anderson, is a band consisting of members; Leo Henrichs, Raughi Ebert and Muriel Anderson. Together they are pioneering a new genre of music called New World Flamenco. Muriel Anderson (born 1960) is an American fingerstyle guitarist and harp guitarist who plays in many genres. She is the first female to win the National Fingerpicking Guitar Championship. Muriel Anderson was born in Downers Grove, Illinois, and is of Finnish descent: her great grandparents emigrated to the United States from Finland. Her grandfather played saxophone in the John Philip Sousa band. She learned piano as a child
