Does anyone know whether or not the inner sleeves are the much-maligned PVC sleeves known for ruining records?
Kigabar
@luke_eastman - yes, I just bought a Rhino 2009 copy from my local record store in Las Vegas and it had the pvc sleeves. No issues though with the vinyl. One thing I really want to highlight with this record, side four of the second disc has an unbelievable etching of the Sab demon. The poster was cool, but the etching really caught me by surprise.
Bukelv
To be more specific, the inner sleeves that came with this album, are HDPE, otherwise known as “High Density Polyethylene”. Not PVC.
Onoxyleili
Right. But the sleeves that came with this record, are not PVC sleeves, they’re poly sleeves. Not sure where these people got the idea that these are PVC.
Āłł_Ÿøūrš
He was asking about PVC sleeves, not poly lined ones.
Rarranere
Poly Inner sleeves are anti-static and will not scratch or damage your records. Paper sleeves are the worst inner sleeve you can put your records in. You're guaranteed to get paper scuffs, which will eventually degrade the record. Not sure where you got your info from on poly inner sleeves, but the info you heard couldn't be further from the truth.
Lanadrta
But it only damages the record if you keep them in a hot environment, below 80 degrees Fahrenheit should be ok right?
Rocksmith
Mine had the PVC sleeves, so yeah. I switched mine out for paper from one of my older LPs and through the PVC ones away.
