Octopus is the seventh full-length studio album recorded by the British synthpop band The Human League. It was produced by the former Tears for Fears keyboard player Ian Stanley and released by EastWest Records in 1995. It was the first new album from The Human League in five years after the termination of their long-term contract with Virgin Records.

The Octopus is the third studio album of the Manchester space rock band Amplifier. The format of the album is double CD. It was released to fans online in December 2010 and was commercially released in January 2011.

The Octopus: The word octopus means "eight feet. Octopuses are solitary, eight-armed animals that live on the ocean floor. There are over 100 different species of octopuses. The Giant Octopus is the biggest octopus. This huge mollusk is up to 23 ft (7 m) from arm tip to arm tip, weighing up to 400 pounds (182 kg). The smallest is the Californian octopus, which is only 3/8 inch (1 cm) long. Anatomy: An octopus has a soft body and eight arms. Each arm has two rows of suction cups. Another defense that octopuses have is changing their skin color to blend into the background, camouflaging themselves. The octopus swims by spewing water from its body, a type of jet propulsion.

It's a vast album with every track a great listen. There's a much wider variety of styles in the tracks here than on many of their earlier albums, with much more creativity shown. The production approach is also more creative.

In fact octopus completely lack the presence of any bones, which makes them extremely flexible and maneuverable. Their body is rounded and elongated, and their dark eyes are well-defined. These large eyes allow octopuses to be able to see distinct shapes, a feat not many sea creatures possess. The eight arms come together on the octopus at the skirt, and the mouth sits in the center of the skirt. Each of the eight arms or tentacles of an octopus generally has over 200 suction cup like protuberances that it uses to help it grab onto its prey. These protuberances or suckers are very sensitive and capable of flexing and picking up chemical changes in the water.
