Rosemary Isabel Brown (27 July 1916 – 16 November 2001) was an English composer, pianist and spirit medium who claimed that dead composers dictated new musical works to her. She created a small media sensation in the 1970s by presenting works purportedly dictated to her by Claude Debussy, Edvard Grieg, Franz Liszt, Franz Schubert, Frédéric Chopin, Igor Stravinsky, Johann Sebastian Bach, Johannes Brahms, Ludwig van Beethoven, Robert Schumann and Sergei Rachmaninoff.
Three years ago, Rosemary Brown's piano technique was extremely limited, but she can play virtually all the music. This phenomenon alone is quite extraordinary; even more so is the fact that as she receives a piece of music, she is given a power of memorising it for which there is no rational explanation. Thus there are three phenomena associated with Rosemary Brown who is regarded in psychic circles as unique. These eleven pieces have been chosen as being representative of the composers named, and to show diversity of styles, the composers ranging in period from Bach to Debussy.

Rosemary Brown was a twentieth-century British medium who specialized in musical compositions. Over two decades she produced several hundred mainly classical pieces that she said were dictated to her by a deceased composers. Her claims were controversial, although the pieces were acknowledged by many to have high artistic merit. but they are too good to dismiss lightly’. 15 He was especially impressed with the Liszt item Grübelei which was partly dictated on May. 29th, 1969 in the presence of a BBC television crew filming Mrs Brown and the Composers.
Brown did not know who he was until, about ten years later, she saw a picture of Franz Liszt. Then in 1964 Liszt "renewed contact" and original compositions began flooding in from great musicians of the past. Mrs Brown transcribed pieces from Brahms, Bach, Rachmaninoff, Schubert, Grieg, Debussy, Chopin, Schumann, Beethoven, and Liszt himself. A recording titled The Rosemary Brown Piano Album presents performances of some of the music Brown transcribed. She published a number of books, including Unfinished Symphonies: Voices from the Beyond.
