Miles heard them playing it on the tour bus, and liked what he heard so much that he took the tape to Teo Macero who was putting together the album and asked him to include it on the album. on some reissues this segment has been smothered in noise reduction but the MOV LP 1483 sounds excellent. its a tribute to Miles that he spotted the value of this piece of live music for what it was and wasn't hung up on the rough nature of the recording. and its a tribute to Teo that he skillfully wove it into the fabric of the album.
