Long Live Rock 'n' Roll may be singer Ronnie James Dio's last album with Rainbow, but at least he went out on a high note. While the material is not quite as strong as on the previous studio effort, Rising, Long Live Rock 'n' Roll maintains the momentum the band had built up. "Kill the King" had been previously heard on the live On Stage record, but here it sounds more fully realized. Also, the title track from the album stands as one of the best songs the band did, not to mention a noble sentiment.
And Swift Kick’s ‘Long Live Rock’ EP on CD, along with an insanely rare unreleased full-length album by Swift Kick, which is really amazing, but unfortunately never saw the light of day. It’s untitled, but the songs themselves are titled. Tracy sent it to me from the original masters. It’s sad that the singer of Swift Kick died a few years ago, he was a really amazing singer
Long Live Rock" is a single by The Who, written by Pete Townshend during 1971. It was not included on the Who's Next album, as it wasn't recorded until 1972. It was later performed by Billy Fury's character in the film That'll Be the Day featuring Keith Moon. The original Who recording of the song was later released on the rarities album Odds & Sods (1974), as well as being released as a single in 1979.
Wonderful album with the mysterious and inspiring song "GATES OF BABYLON". My gosh, how Ritchie even thought of this amazing collection of works with the best singer in rock. When his solo begins, you feel the explosion of his many notes, stinging your mind and embracing his raw guitar style of arpeggios and classical influence. Reply Notify me Helpful.
