Composer Fred Myrow was born on July 16, 1939 in Brooklyn, New York. He moved to Hollywood, California at age six. Fred studied with Darius Milhaud in Aspen in 1956 and took courses in conducting and composition at the University of California, where his instructors included Ingolf Dahl, Muriel Kerr and Gwendolyn Koldolfsky. In addition, Myrow both arranged and conducted the album "Subway to the Country" for Elektra Records.
