Peter Edward "Ginger" Baker (born 19 August 1939) is an English drummer and a founder of the rock band Cream. His work in the 1960s earned him the reputation of "rock's first superstar drummer", while his individual style melds a jazz background with African rhythms.

ITM reissue two sessions from Ginger Baker, recorded in 1987. Ever keen on African music, even relocating to Nigeria for a few years in the 1970s, one of Ginger Baker's many projects was The African Force - a jazzed-up drum and percussion ensemble featuring Francis Mensah, Ampofo, Ansou Mana Bangoura and J. C. Commodore on percussion and vocals. The first set, which also features German horn players Wolfgang Schmidtke and Ludwig Götzn and bassist Jan Kazda, was recorded live at Jazzhaus, Cologne. That album is better because of Fela. This one features percussion but lacks a lead man.
