Prince Vince - Gangster Funk.
American Gangster is the tenth studio album by American rapper Jay-Z. It was conceived as a concept album-inspired by the 2007 film of the same name-and released on November 6 of that year by Roc-A-Fella Records. The album features production from Diddy & The Hitmen, Just Blaze, and The Neptunes, among others. Guest appearances include Beanie Sigel, Lil Wayne, Pharrell and Nas.
This list provides a guide to the most important hip hop albums, as determined by their presence on compiled lists of significant albums: see the "Lists consulted" section for full details. Inclusion on a list is indicated by numbering after each release. The brief accompanying notes offer an explanation as to why each album has been considered important. The organization of the list is by date of release, ranging from Run-D. s eponymous debut in 1984 to Jay-Z's 2001 album, The Blueprint.

The best Hip Hop albums from 1994. One of the best G-funk albums ever. This album captures the sunny summertime vibe of Los Angeles like few others ever have. Warren G never was the best rapper out there, but he has a nice and mellow flow (reminiscent of Snoop Dogg’s) that suits his own excellent G-funk beats perfectly. Short and sweet at a little under 40 minutes, Regulat. Funk Era is a definite West Coast classic. Top tracks: Regulate This DJ In So Many Ways Running With No Breaks. Although Thug Life – Vol. 1 is a group album – Thug Life consisting of 2Pac, Big Syke, Macadoshis, Mopreme and The Rated R – essentially it is a 2Pac album, as Pac is the eye-catcher of the group and by far it’s most prominent and dominant force. A strong album, which could have been even stronger if it had been just 2Pac.
The original P-Funk stroke a trunk of funk, Then you saw caps cause my jaw snaps with the raw raps, So color me bad, plus color me black, For the funk that I pack, Red freak it to the funk track (Time 4 Sum Aksion). Redman is one of the most underappreciated emcees ever. If only judged by the popular single I Got A Man (and the bubblegum album cover), you might think Positive K is just another pop rapper. That would be wrong, though. Not really a pure Hip Hop album, but more a crossover effort that mixes up genres, this album is included in this list nonetheless because it has that ‘Hip Hop feel’. Political, conscious, smart (maybe somewhat preachy) lyrics over experimental, innovative and genre-crossing production – a wholly enjoyable and important early 90s album, which would be higher on this list if music in general, not just Hip Hop was considered.
