The Seahorses were an English alternative rock band, formed in 1996 by guitarist John Squire, following his departure from The Stone Roses. The band released their debut album, Do It Yourself in 1997, and began work on a follow up, before splitting up due to musical differences during recording sessions in January 1999

seahorses Hello! I've always wanted to tell you how much I love this album. It's literally a new universe of chill ambient music I've never listened to something like this. This is a special album as it marks a new collaboration between seahorses and Henry Chandanais formerly of the Boston, Providence area post rock band, Maritime Pilot. The final track also features Maritime Pilot guitarist Michael Brunetto. With luck it's only the beginning of a fun and productive collaboration.

It entered the UK album chart at behind Gary Barlow's solo debut Open Road, and went on to gain platinum status after selling over 300,000 copies in the UK alone.
