Shirley and Lee remained with Aladdin Records until 1959, when they moved to Warwick Records, followed by Imperial Records in 1962. The duo never equaled their biggest hit, and broke up in 1963. Lee released some singles on his own before he died of a heart attack on October 23, 1976. Shirley moved to Los Angeles, California, and continued singing. She contributed background vocals to Sonny and Cher, as well as the double album Exile on Main Street (1972) by the Rolling Stones and Dr. John’s Gumbo (1972).

Laverne & Shirley (originally Laverne DeFazio & Shirley Feeney) is an American television sitcom that played for eight seasons on ABC from January 27, 1976, to May 10, 1983. A spin-off of Happy Days, Laverne & Shirley followed the lives of Laverne DeFazio (Penny Marshall) and Shirley Feeney (Cindy Williams), two friends and roommates who work as bottle-cappers in the fictitious Shotz Brewery in late 1950s Milwaukee, Wisconsin.

Written by Chris Lee. Happy Days premiered on January 15, 1974. Originally it was the story of two-high school kids, Richie Cunningham and his pal Warren "Potsie" Weber, at Jefferson High in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. Joanie was his 12-year-old kid sister. Two lower-middle-class working girls turned up briefly in late 1975 quickly went on to a series of their own, Laverne & Shirley. An entirely new arrangement of the theme was introduced during the 1983-1984 season. The series' original syndication run was known as "Happy Days Again" from the late 1970's to mid 1980's. This was done to distinguish the reruns from the first run episodes aired on ABC at the time. The series' was reissued in the late 1980's-early 1990's as "Happy Days".
