Compliments, also known as Garcia, is Jerry Garcia's second solo album, released in 1974. This double-disc anthology works well as a thematic companion to Postcards of the Hanging: The Grateful Dead Perform the Songs of Bob Dylan (2002). While the occasional exception exists, the contents are primarily presented in a chronological fashion.
Garcia Plays Dylan is an album composed of various live performances featuring Jerry Garcia playing covers of Bob Dylan songs. It is culled from performances from 1973–1995, and features Garcia playing with Grateful Dead, Legion of Mary, Jerry Garcia Band, and Garcia-Saunders. Garcia takes lead vocals on all tracks. To me, now getting old, Gaxcia plays Dylan much better than the man himself since the days of The Band, and some of the guitar solos are brilliant. Not completely successful all the time, but then, that sums up the Garcia, the Greateful Dead and Dylan.
