I do not think you would take this pain You'd be on your knees and struggle under the weight Oh, the truth would be a beautiful thing Oh, the truth is a beautiful thing. Hold your heart, hold your hand Would be to me, the greatest thing To hold your heart, to hold your hand Would be to me, the bravest thing. Could you take my place and stand here? I do not think you would take this pain You'd be on your knees and struggle under the weight.

Singer Hannah Reid is still beset by the troubling complexities of love and relationships on London Grammar’s second album. That’s good news for the rest of us because anguish and sorrow are premium fuels for a pure, versatile voice that soars and plummets with rare melancholic grace. The trio’s music remains haunted and hymnal, minimal yet efficient, softly accenting Reid’s emotion and allowing itself to rise to gorgeous, euphoric swells on the slow-burning Hell to the Liars and the gently blissful electro-pop of Oh Woman Oh Man. Truth Is a Beautiful Thing (Deluxe) London Grammar. Singer Hannah Reid is still beset by the troubling complexities of love and relationships on London Grammar’s second album.

With Truth is a Beautiful Thing London Grammar have created a world that knows when to be expansive and when to be introspective, building on their DNA and adding more dextrous, yet suitably restrained arrangements. It shows second albums don’t have to be disappointments, that artists can continue walk their own rarefied path and in the process get better the further down the road they get.

Sometimes the record sounds distorted, sometimes it sounds absolutely flat - "If You Wait" pressings were top notch, this sounds nice though but doesn't give justice to the minimal instrumentation and Hannah's highs.
