For comparison's sake, i made a reference CD-R of music and "remastered" the various songs to playback properly at the level i mentioned, without having to tweak the master volume knob from cd to cd. It makes a/bing my mixes with commercial music so much simpler and more informative, as everything gets to live at unity gain.
