We Like It Here is an album by American jazz fusion group Snarky Puppy that was released on February 25, 2014. All tracks written by Michael League except where noted. Michael League – bass guitar, Moog keybass. Mike Maher – trumpet, flugelhorn. Jay Jennings – trumpet, flugelhorn. Chris Bullock – tenor saxophone, bass clarinet, flute. Bob Reynolds – tenor saxophone. Yannick Hiwat – violin. Tessel Hersbach – violin.

Like its predecessor, For the Working Class Man debuted on the national chart at No. 1 on 16 December 1985. It remained at No. 1 for seven weeks. Titled simply Jimmy Barnes in the US, the album was issued in February to tie in with the release of the Ron Howard film Gung Ho which featured "Working Class Man" The Jimmy Barnes band that toured Australia in support of the album featured Howe and Arnott, plus keyboardist Peter Kekell, former Rose Tattoo guitarist Robin Riley and American guitarist. With the release of the album in America, Barnes headed off with a band of Canadian musicians hand-picked by his North American management team and toured with ZZ Top.

Mike Barnes follows the pioneering trail blazed by Captain Beefheart and The Magic Band. Don Van Vliet, aka Captain Beefheart, was born in Glendale, a suburb of Los Angeles, in 1941. 16 years after his last record was released, he is still one of the most talked about musicians of his generation. Trout Mask Replica was released in late 1969, but it still sounds like a signal retrieved from another time and dimension. Put more prosaically, it was a quantum leap from its predecessor in terms of structure and musical complexity. There is too much on Trout Mask to summarise here, but two particular highlights are Neon Meate Dream Of A Octafish, a delirious stream of sensual, sexual imagery (including Meate rose ‘n’ hairs ) declaimed over a spectacularly convoluted backing, and the a cappella Orange Claw Hammer, a beautifully wrought sea shanty-style yarn about an old sailor’s reunion with his long lost.
