Impurity is the fifth studio album of British rock band New Model Army, released in September 1990. It was the first album without bassist Jason Harris, who had been replaced by Peter Nice (better known as "Nelson"). It was also to become the band's last studio album with EMI. The album sees the band venturing further into the musical territory which they began exploring on their previous album, Thunder and Consolation (1989). Violinist Ed Alleyne-Johnson was again a vital collaborator.

The other third are taken from the days when their old manager used to confiscate NMA bootleg tapes for sale at London's Camden Market, and then press 'em up as a series of bonus live 12" discs that came with their regular single releases

Track 1 recorded live at the Brixton Academy June 16th 1990. Track 2 recorded in Lyon, France the 9th of October 1985. Tracks 6 recorded live at Conventry Polythechic October 1986.
