The Lost BBC Sessions 1965 (LP). Vendi questa versione. Each album has been "remixed" to exactly copy the original final mix down, using pristine multi-tracks, creating a sound quality with a very low noise-floor and an amazing faithfullness to what Simon and Garfunkel intended, along with their audiophile-genius engineer and collaborator Roy Halee. Simon & Garfunkel were an American folk-rock duo consisting of singer-songwriter Paul Simon and singer Art Garfunkel. One of the best-selling music groups of the 1960s, their biggest hits-including "The Sound of Silence" (1965), "Mrs. Robinson" (1968), "The Boxer" (1969), and "Bridge over Troubled Water" (1970)-reached number one on singles charts worldwide.

And the transparently imitative nature of the recordings should hardly come as a surprise, since this record, subtitled The Lost Album 1965, is part of a continuum including previous archive releases Bronx in Blue (SPV, 2006) and Bronx Blues: The Columbia Recordings 1962-1965 (Legacy, 1991)
Simon & Garfunkel quickly became key players in the movement. The album opens with the title track, which is still one of the most significant records of its time, but Art Garfunkel was not totally taken with the new sound. It was in that electric 12-string style of the Byrds, he told Blue Railroad. They’ve drowned out the strength of the lyric and they’ve made it more of a fashion kind of production. The LP, however, was far from a one-hit wonder, and the original folk style of the duo was not totally abandoned. Songs like "Kathy's Song" and "April.
Simon and Garfunkel upped the ante once again with Bridge Over Troubled Water, an album that hit all over the world following its release in January 1970. Their fifth, and last full studio album, Bridge Over Troubled Water featured a title track that ranks with the most beautiful songs ever written, made unforgettable through one of the most emotionally uplifting vocal performances ever recorded. Bridge Over Troubled Water brought the two partners’ gifts to their highest expression. The album has sold more than 25 million copies worldwide.
After the success of the album, Simon & Garfunkel went on a nationwide tour, performing at symphony halls and college demonstrations. It may be interesting to note here that they did not use a backup band on their tours, preferring to base their songs on the strumming of the acoustic guitar. In between tours they recorded another album, "Parsley, Sage, Rosemary & Thyme" - an album that established them firmly as intellectual folk singers. In 1968, Mike Nichols asked them to contribute music for his new film, "The Graduate" within a very short period.
The Simon & Garfunkel story might have ended there, except for a brainstorm of their producer, Tom Wilson (who also produced several of Bob Dylan's early albums). Folk-rock was taking off in 1965, and Wilson, who had helped Dylan electrify his sound, took the strongest track from S&G's debut, "The Sound of Silence," and embellished it with electric guitars, bass, and drums. Their final studio album, Bridge Over Troubled Water, was an enormous hit, topping the charts for ten weeks, and containing four hit singles (the title track, "The Boxer," "Cecilia," and "El Condor Pasa"). It was certainly their most musically ambitious, with "Bridge Over Troubled Water" and "The Boxer" employing thundering drums and tasteful orchestration, and "Cecilia" marking one of Simon's first forays into South American rhythms.
