Profil: One-album disco band including some of the best musicians - producers - arrangers of late 70's Motown, like Willie Hutch, Gene Page etc. They scored a disco hit - "Tailgate" Originally 21st Century (2), a vocal group formed in Chicago including Fred Williams, Alphonso Smith, Pierre Johnson, Tyrone Moores & Alonzo Martin. They switched to the Gordy label in 1977 and changer their name to 21st Creation. It's the same band than '21st century', they change the name after the 1975 LP because they received a letter from a gospel group stating they had recorded under that name prior to the release of "Rain," and "Child. To eliminate the conflict, they just changed the first name band '21st century' to '21st creation'
Happy (Love Theme from 'Lady Sings the Blues'). Number 2 is a series of 6 - Volume Two chronicles Smokey Robinson's 3rd and 4th albums for Motown in 1975 and 1976 with a non-album single side thrown in as a bonus. It's not all undiscovered solid gold for sure but the good stuff is great - and the improved audio quality is an absolute treat. Being a big fan of Mr Robinson Quiet Storm was one great album. His first 2, solo projects were good but the quiet storm album was just great. The follow up to the quiet storm album Smokey's family Robinson left a lot to be desired.
