Deniece Williams (born June Deniece Chandler; June 3, 1951) is an American singer, songwriter and producer. Williams has been described as "one of the great soul voices" by the BBC. Williams has won four Grammys with twelve nominations altogether. Born in Gary, Indiana, Williams attended Morgan State University in Baltimore, Maryland, in the hopes of becoming a registered nurse and an anesthetist, but dropped out after a year and a half.

Deniece first made an impression as part of Stevie Wonder's back-up trio, Wonderlove, in the early '70s. In 1976, she released her debut album This Is Niecy, which featured the mega-hit 'Free', which topped the UK chart. Song Bird was produced by Earth, Wind & Fire's Maurice White. Her self penned GOD IS AMAZING is worth the price of admission alone. Other standouts are TIME, THE BOY I LEFT BEHIND and SEASON. The highest kudos must also be given to Big Break Records.
