Phil Phillips (born Philip Baptiste, March 14, 1926) is an American singer and songwriter, best known for his 1959 song, "Sea of Love". Philip Baptiste was encouraged to pursue a career as a singer after a school performance of a song called "Sweet Slumber". He performed with his brothers in a gospel group called the Gateway Quartet and worked as a bellhop before he recorded "Sea of Love" in 1959.

Dave Phillips co-founded hardcore Swiss extremists Fear of God in 1987. They performed throughout Switzerland, releasing a handful of recordings before their 1988 dissolution. Fear of God has since attained cult status - their fan base has increased, and posthumous releases abound. With Roger Drein and ex-Fear of God guitarist Reto "Tschösi" Kühne, Phillips formed the group PK in 1991.
