Gold Coast, Australia. I am an international award-winning Australian composer and recording artist. My music could be described as melodic/rhythmic instrumental electronic music. My musical styles include space ambient, electronica, new age, ambient, soundscape and music for film. My goal is to take you, the listener, on a new journey with each track.

Official release date: 12 April 2019. Award winning Australian composer and synthesist Jim Ottaway has released his new ambient album ‘Beyond the Purple Sun’. This album follows the release of Jim’s albums ‘Yesterday Passing’ and the international award-winning ‘Timeless e-Motion’ and ‘Deep Space Blue’. Beyond the Purple Sun’ is Jim’s 13th international release.

At the 14th annual Zone Music Reporter Awards (2017) held in New Orleans on 12 May 2018 'Timeless e-Motion' was awarded Best Electronic Album and 'Deep Space Blue' was awarded Best Ambient Album. Deep Space Blue' was also nominated for Album of the Year. In 2017 'Southern Cross' and 'Invisible Vortex' received nominations in the Zone Music Reporter Awards (2016) and One World Music Awards for music released in 2016. In 2018 'Deep Space Blue' also received a nomination for Best Electronic Album in the One World Music Awards for music.
