Berserker is the sixth solo studio album by English musician Gary Numan, released in 1984. It was his first album to be released under Numan's own record label, Numa Records.

By the time Numan had founded his Numa label, his music had already taken a decidedly more corporate rock turn; in comparison to albums like Telekon, Warriors often sounded like it was out to soundtrack any number of post-apocalyptic low-budget movies from 1983. Berserker, promising title and striking new personal image (combining white skin covering and blue highlights) aside, continued this curious trend, very much a dog's breakfast of sudden, striking ability and a surprising embrace of already shopworn clichés.

Berserker is the eighth studio album, and sixth under his own name, by musician Gary Numan, released in 1984. 2 Different releases. 3 The Berserker Tour. 1984 Numa vinyl release (NUMA 1001). 1991 Numa CD reissues (NUMACD 1001). CD reissue (CLP 0536-2). 1999 Eagle Records UK CD reissue (EAMCD072).

The 'Berserker' album is a true classic in Numan's discography, it fuses full on electronica with fretless bass and saxaphone. All songs on this album are excellent and Berserker is worthy successor to to the style Numan had developed on the previous release 'Worriors'. Responder Notifique-me Helpful. Berserker, as a complete work is astounding. And held against even the best known acts of the time, this is an extremely mature album for a 24 year old to write

Except for This Is New Love, The Secret, and The God Film, this album rocks. Slick Numan pop. It has a futuristic viewpoint but definitely mirrors the 1980s.

I've been waiting for you Do you want to come Do you want to come Do you want to come with me now). And this is my story My face, the picture's changed Do you remember me? Now I'm fighting to breathe It's been such a long time. Do you want to come Do you want to come Do you want to come with me Do you want to come Do you want to come Do you want to come with me now? Nothing here for me now I can't believe the noise We'll take this place apart I won't be here for long I know they'll find me soon

Heavy - metal - like riffs and guitar sounds were a lot more aggressive than on the preceding albums, and the electric bass contrasted with the heavy guitar sound. Numan also decided to use sound as a percussion, in lieu of conventional percussive instruments. The distinctive sound of the PPG Wave synthesiser was introduced on this album, developing memorable synth riffs ; the dream - like female backing vocals were still fully embraced from " Warriors ". Saxophones were infrequently used on the album, along with the viola that had last been featured on " Telekon.
