Songs the Lord Taught Us is the first album by the American psychobilly band The Cramps. It was released in May 1980 on . Records in America and Illegal Records in England. Lux Interior – vocals. Poison Ivy Rorschach – guitar. Bryan Gregory – guitar. Booker C – organ on "Fever". Alex Chilton – producer. John Hampton – engineer. Carl Grasso – art direction.

Multiple songs have been subsequently released in other forms. Recording for Volume 2 took place between 1996 and 1998 in various locations: tracks were recorded by guitarist Chad I Ginsburg on a 24-track tape and an ADAT in Newtown, Pennsylvania, drummer Jess Margera on a 4-track tape in West Chester, Pennsylvania, John Teague on an ADAT in Westtown, Pennsylvania, and Dave Kurtz on an 8-track tape in Downingtown

Smell Of The Cramps’ which were also compiled as is this one by MOJO contributor Dave Henderson – obsessives amongst you should also seek out the ‘Beats From Badsville’ series (Stag-O-Lee Records), which when I last looked had reached Vol – once again Dave Henderson being the curator. If it takes the tie-in of The Cramps legacy to get these records out to a wider audience then lets keep them coming.
