Live in London 1980: The Legendary Chaos Tape. A resurrection of a cassette-only live release on the Chaos label back in 1980, this artifact features the Fall in an Acklam Hall, London, gig. The . aesthetic of the Fall has somehow spawned many a release mastered from old vinyl and cassette (bad quality just part of the package, you see) and this is no exception - the opening minutes are very dodgy indeed, full of tape hiss and dropouts.

Consistent quality early Fall throughout the disc, with lots of cracking performances of songs that were from the just released 'Grotesque' album, and some run-throughs of future releases, as in most Fall live outings. Has possibly the best version of one of my top 5 Fall tracks, 'New Face in Hell' (without the rather annoying Kazoo bits which I think slightly marred the 'Grotesque' album version). Other excellent versions of well known early Fall abound ('Spectre vs Rector', 'Totally Wired', 'That man', 'Jawbone').
