Complete your Groundhogs collection. Notes: According to the Martyn Hanson book "Hoggin' the page, Groundhogs: the classic years" page 124, "the album was supposed to have been recorded in Germany but all they used from the tapes was the applause! It was actually recorded live at The Old Smithy Worcester. To make things more convincing Tony apologised during "Soldier" for using the term "dirty hun".

The Groundhogs issued "Shake It" b/w "Rock Me" on the Interphon record label in January 1965. Their line-up on their first album, Scratchin' the Surface, (produced by the 19-year old Head Of A&R for Liberty Records, Mike Batt) released in November 1968, consisted of McPhee as singer and guitarist; bassist Peter Cruickshank (born 2 July 1945, in Calcutta), Ken Pustelnik on drums (born 13 March 1946 on a farm near Blairgowrie, Angus, Scotland) and Steve Rye on harmonica (born 8 March 1946 in London – died 19 July 1992, in London). Hogs on the Road (live) (June 1988). Groundhog Live (July 1993).

Originally released in 1988, HOGS ON THE ROAD is, as indicated by the title, a live album from cult-fave British blues-rockers the Groundhogs. Over the course of its two discs, there’s guitar glory aplenty to be found, as the band runs through classics from its own catalog (like Split and Cherry Red ) as well as tackling such tunes as Robert Johnson’s Delta blues milestone Me and the Devil.

GROUNDHOGS is a Prog Related, Progressive Rock artist from United Kingdom. A Mellotron which was used on the previous album and Synthesisers were brought forward into the band's music with great effect, drummer Ken Pustlenik left and ex-Egg drummer Clive Brooks was brought in to replace him, also adding a new dimension to the band's sound.
