Spider & The Flies is the side-project of The Horrors' Rhys Webb (Spider) and Tom Cowan (Tomethy Furse). It’s essentially a creative showcase for their love of vintage synths, mangled sounds and reconstructed dance music. Space out to a long dose of gloomy, spaced-fuck, mind-crunching noise direct from the voodoo altar. Spider And The Flies has been played on NTS shows including Andrew Weatherall Presents: Music's Not For Everyone, with Jungle Planet first played on 26 October 2017. The Spider and the Fly is a poem by Mary Howitt (1799–1888), published in 1828. The first line of the poem is "'Will you walk into my parlour?' said the Spider to the Fl. The story tells of a spider who ensnares a fly through the use of seduction and flattery. The poem is a cautionary tale against those who use flattery and charm to disguise their true intentions.
