Sure, Moog recordings have been in vogue at least since the first few Stereolab releases appeared, but get past the obvious kitsch and irony factors, and it becomes clear that Trythall was onto something rather interesting here - there's an impressive complexity and density to his arrangements, and even if these traditional country melodies aren't the most complementary showcase for.

Gil Trythall, composer and faculty member at Peabody School of Music, received his Master's degree at Norhtwestern and his Doctorate from Cornell. A native Tennessean, Gil combines his academic background with his feel for the 'Nashville Sound' in his album of country hits.
