Clarence Williams III (born August 21, 1939) is an American actor. He played the character "Linc Hayes" in the "hippie" cop show The Mod Squad (1968–1973). Born in New York City, Williams is the son of a professional musician, Clarence "Clay" Williams J. and grandson of jazz and blues composer/pianist Clarence Williams and his singer-actress wife, Eva Taylor. Raised by his paternal grandmother, he became interested in acting after accidentally walking onto a stage at a theater below a Harlem YMCA.

Sarah Martin (1791–1843) was a British philanthropist. Sarah or Sara Martin may also refer to: Sara Martin (1884–1955), American blues singer. Sarah Martin (musician) (born 1974), British musician. Sugar Blues" is a song written in 1919 by Clarence Williams with words by Lucy Fletcher. It was recorded for the first time by Leona Williams and her Dixie Band in August 1922. Sara Martin recorded it with Williams at the piano later that year. It was later recorded by Bob Wills and his Texas Playboys, Fats Waller, and Ella Fitzgerald with Chick Webb and his Orchestra (1939) and others. The song became popular in 1936 as the trumpeter Clyde McCoy's theme song, featuring the sound of the growling wah-wah mute.
Clarence Williams (October 6, 1898 or October 8, 1893 – November 6, 1965) was an American jazz pianist, composer, promoter, vocalist, theatrical producer, and publisher. Williams was born in Plaquemine, Louisiana, ran away from home at age 12 to join Billy Kersands' Traveling Minstrel Show, then moved to New Orleans. At first, Williams worked shining shoes and doing odd jobs, but soon became known as a singer and master of ceremonies.
