La Mecedora by Los Compadres del Ande is a steady-grooving vocal cumbia and was originally released in 1966 on the album Happy Cumbia, but this version comes from the 7" released two years later. The group were well known as the Andean version of The Beatles with their unconventional look and are regarded as precursors of Peruvian cumbia. Recuerda Corazón by La Peruanita is a track driven by a huayno groove - the pervading rhythm from the Andean mountain range.
