Michel Teló (Brazilian Portuguese: ); born January 21, 1981) is a Brazilian sertanejo singer-songwriter and actor. Before his solo act, he was a lead singer in various bands, most notably Grupo Tradição. His biggest national and international hit is "Ai Se Eu Te Pego", a number one in most European countries and Latin America.
Michel Teló (Medianeira, January 21, 1981) is a Brazilian singer and composer. Teló was part of two music groups but was in Group Tradition that his career as a singer took off. The group's biggest hits, were "Goodbye", "The Cauldron", "Forever My Life", "The Brazilian", and "I Want You". The single not only topped the Brazilian charts in 2011, but also it went to in many other countries, including France, Germany, Italy, The Netherlands and Spain. The song reached the Billboard Hot 100, making Michel Teló the first Brazilian solo act to have a song enter the US singles chart since Sérgio Mendes in the 1960s. The release of the live album Michel Teló – Ao Vivo was an even bigger success and awarded Teló a gold disc. This culminated in a huge concert on September 16, 2011, attended by reportedly 50,000 people in a double ticket, which included Teló and João Bosco & Vinícius at Terraço Daslu.
His live album Michel Teló – Ao Vivo, however, was hugely successful and brought him nomination for a Latin Grammy "Best Sertanejo Album". In 2011, Michel was nominated at the 2011 "Melhores do Movimento Country" for four categories: "Best Singer Solo" "Hit of the Year" for "Ai se eu te pego!", "Best CD" for album Michel Teló – Ao Vivo and "Best Show". Na Balada is a live album by Brazilian recording artist Michel Teló. The album became popular because of the international hit single "Ai Se Eu Te Pego" included as the opening track.
