Mary Elizabeth Patterson (November 22, 1874 – January 31, 1966) was an American theatre, film, and television character actress who gained popular recognition late in her career playing the elderly neighbor Matilda Trumbull on the television comedy series I Love Lucy. Born in 1874 in Savannah, Tennessee, Mary Elizabeth Patterson was the child of Mildred (née McDougal) and Edmund D. Patterson, a Confederate army veteran.

Sarah Patterson (born c. 1972) is an English film actress. For her acting debut, Patterson starred as Rosaleen, a Little Red Riding Hood counterpart, in the Neil Jordan and Angela Carter film The Company of Wolves (1984). In 1987 she starred in another fairy tale-inspired film, playing the titular heroine in Cannon Films' Snow White. Neither of these films were great commercial successes; however, the actress did develop somewhat of a cult following.

She was the daughter of a Baltimore merchant, and the first wife of Jérôme Bonaparte, Napoleon's youngest brother. Elizabeth's father, William Patterson (1752-1835), was born in Ireland and came to North America prior to the American Revolutionary War (1775-1783)

Baltimore belle Elizabeth Patterson Bonaparte became an international celebrity when she married Napoleon’s brother Jérôme in 1803. Elizabeth Patterson Bonaparte continued to move between Europe and the United States, preferring the former. She grew in bitterness as she aged. Betsy confessed in her correspondence her boredom, depression and disappointment, although she kept up her social engagements and continued to move in the highest circles.
