In the Night is the third studio album by American R&B singer and songwriter Cheryl Lynn, released on Columbia Records in April 1981. The album includes the hit Soul/dance track "Shake It Up Tonight" which reached to number five on both the Soul and Dance charts. Cheryl Lynn was on the upswing at this time and provided backing vocals on another song, "Georgy Porgy" that had that "Lowdown" flavor to it and it attracted some attention peaking at 48. The disappointing chart performance of the single did not slow the band down and they continued on to greater heights and their first single "Africa". That whole first TOTO album was amazing.
