The album charted briefly, and subsequently Coati Mundi's early Latin rap "Me No Pop I", though not originally on the album, became a Top 40 UK hit single. Their breakthrough came with 1982's Tropical Gangsters, which hit in the UK and spun off three Top 10 hits with "Stool Pigeon", "Annie, I'm Not Your Daddy" and "I'm A Wonderful Thing, Baby. Dear Addy" also made the Top 40. In the US the album was retitled Wise Guy and reached and "I'm a Wonderful Thing, Baby" flirted with the R&B charts

Coati Mundi (born January 3, 1950) is the stage name of American musician Andy Hernandez, percussionist, notably playing the vibraphone, and member of Dr. Buzzard's Original Savannah Band, then of Kid Creole and the Coconuts. He scored the Top 40 UK hit "Me No Pop I" in 1981, just before the release of Tropical Gangsters YouTube Encyclopedic. His single "Me No Pop I" reached on the British charts in summer 1981. The song was ranked at among the top ten "Tracks of the Year" for 1981 by NM. .Hernandez is a self-taught musician. His main instrument is the vibraphone but he also plays piano, percussion, flute and is a music arranger and composer. He once said in an interview, "I have never let the lack of talent stop me from doing anything".
