Shop Vinyl and CDs and complete your Miles Away collection. Wow. What an amazing album. For starters, the Pink/Purple variant is absolutely beautiful; tying into the album's artwork color-scheme nicely (I'm a big fan of records that do this). The sound quality is phenomenal and beats anything I've heard digitally; vinyl definitely does this album justice. All the levels seemed to be balanced nicely (though if I were to be picky, I would've preferred the vox a bit higher). With bass assist on my subwoofer, it sounds incredible.

Time and Tide is the debut studio album by Polish singer-songwriter Basia, released by Epic Records in 1987. The album includes the hit singles "Promises", "New Day for You", and the title track. Time and Tide was Basia's first solo album following her and Danny White's departure from the band Matt Bianco. The pair co-produced and mostly co-wrote the material themselves, although Peter Ross of Immaculate Fools contributed to five songs on the album.
Miles Away recognized calls to improve from critics over the last couple years - some of which I felt were harsh. But I can't deny that something was missing. In fact, ex-Defeater drummer Andy Reitz hammers away on the kit (which is undoubtedly one of the best aspects on the album) while there's a guest spot from Bane guitarist Zach Jordan on the mic. It shows how much thought went into making Tide more wholesome. They do well to shake the nondescript tag a lot of folks harshly dropped on them in the past with tracks like "Grateful" showing the mark up in their music. It's a mix of rdcore that hits the right spots.
Miles Away is another one of those bands. Their style and feel is strictly hardcore, but the obvious influences of latter 90s NYHC and metal have since been replaced with heartfelt punk, post-hardcore, and indie. After five years away, the Australian band returns with their latest release Tide, a collection of angst-y, hardcore-influenced burners that bring to mind the collective work of Walter Schriefels. It’s catchy, it’s heavy, it’s repeatable and it’s streaming in full below.
