Mihalis Rakintzis (Greek: Μιχάλης Ρακιντζής) is a male Greek singer. He was born in Athens, on 3 April 1957, and studied Mechanical Engineering in Great Britain. From 1982 to 1985, he participated at a rock group called Scraptown. After three albums & a maxi-single Scraptown split up and Rakintzis started a solo career. Readers of the music magazine Popcorn voted him "Best singer of the Year" in 1991.
ActI ActII by Michalis Moschoutis, released 16 September 2013 1. ActI 2. ActII In July 2013 I was an artist in residence at Syros Sound Meetings, a week long residency taking place at the medieval settlement of Ano Syros in the Greek Cylclades. During my stay I was mostly recording inside the village's old churches and there were times where I had to stop playing guitar because someone would come in to pray. These "distractions" gave me the opportunity to "eavesdrop" on the deep and full of meaning silence of prayer. Act I was recorded in the highly reverberant Church. Got it. + add. album.
Michalis Moschoutis has been played on NTS in shows including After Dark w/ HELM, featured first on 15 May 2018. Songs played include There Is Only Us. Original source Last.

Notes
During the 7 weeks of lent, starting on February 27 until April 14, I will be recording a new piece of music everyday. I did not start this ambitious project because of some religious belief. I consider these 7 weeks, which are set according to the first full moon after the spring equinox, to have a particular symbolic meaning, as they mark the transition from winter to spring. Through this project I am also interested in exploring the role of rituals in music and the materiality of sound.Offerings: presentations made to a deity as acts of religious worship or sacrifice; Oblations.
