Soft Hair is a collaboration between New Zealand psych artist Connan Mockasin and British pop outsider Sam Dust. The two friends first met when Dust's previous band, Late of the Pier, supported Mockasin on a 2009 tour, prompting what would turn out to be a four-year, part-time studio venture.
Soft Hair are Connan Mockasin and Sam Dust (LA PRIEST, Late of The Pier). Their eponymous debut album is due for release via Weird World on October 14th 2016.
Tonally, Mockasin and Eastgate are at home within the realms of cheeky sensuality. If there’s a narrative flowing through the album, though, it’s lost in the glittery melting pot of tongue-in-cheek lyricism, hedonistic pop, and avant-garde surrealism.
