Beyond the Shrouded Horizon is the twenty-first studio album by English guitarist and songwriter Steve Hackett. Loch Lomond" is named after the loch of the same name in Scotland. Hackett described the track as blues-influenced which changes to European music once the strings are heard. The lyrics contain many contradictory imagery, such as a Hummingbird in the snow.
At 61, Steve Hackett continues to fly the flag of early Genesis-style British progressive rock on his ambitious 2011 studio album, Beyond the Shrouded Horizon. He reminds listeners of his majestic approach to electric guitar playing at the outset on "Loch Lomond," and then alternates the heavy rock playing with delicate acoustic work, starting with the brief "Wanderlust," actually an introduction to the longer "Til These Eyes.

Beyond the Shrouded Horizon is set to release September 27, and, although Hackett says he didn’t set out to assemble an all-star cast, that’s exactly what happened, and he’s lucky. Chris Squire of Yes, Nick Beggs of Kajagoogoo and solo artist Amanda Lehmann are among the names that appear on the album.
