Spooky Tooth aren't really an absolutely necessary or inavoidable addition to your collection, but as a basic rock phenomenon they're worth some interest, and er, well, they actually wrote some good songs too. It's actually pretty hard to define what exactly Spooky Tooth brought into the rock world; not the least because due to constant personnel change and just as constant change of musical philosophy some of their albums sound nothing like each other. all this leading, for instance, to the fact that Spooky Tooth is one of the very few bands I know who actually had two albums released under the same band name but featuring NOT A SINGLE same member, and yet both albums are definitely 'Spooky Tooth-like'.

The Best of Spooky Tooth: That Was Only Yesterday. Other albums by Spooky Tooth. This single-disc compilation tracks England's Spooky Tooth (led by Gary "Dream Weaver" Wright) between 1969 and 1973, when they cut five albums for A&M. There are three cuts taken from It's All About (including a great reading of "Tobacco Road"), seven from Spooky Two (including the big singles "Evil Woman" and "Waiting on the Wind"), a single excerpt from Ceremony, and a single cut from the band's final offering, You Broke My Heart, So I Busted Your Jaw, with the rest coming from The Last Puff.
Exclusive Prime pricing. I had read that "Spooky Tooth II" was an excellent album that was underappreciated. A significant part of that Album is on the 'Best of' Album'. What I read was correct, the Spooky II portion was excellent. The rest was good, with a few very good. Well worth the purchase.
